(FR)Construit entre 1809 et 1811 par l'architecte lillois Benjamin Deswarlez, le premier pont Napoléon enjambe le canal de la Moyenne-Deûle, reliant la promenade de l'Esplanade au Champ de Mars. Fragilisé au fil des ans, il fut partiellement reconstruit en 1850 par l'architecte de la ville, Philippe Cannissié. Après la destruction du sentier par les Allemands en 1918, ses propres choix architecturaux ont été retenus en 2014 comme référence pour sa restauration.

(EN)Built between 1809 and 1811 by the Lille architect Benjamin Deswarlez, the first Napoléon Bridge vaulted over the MoyenneDeûle canal, joining the promenade de l'Esplanade and the Champ de Mars. Having become weakened over the years, it was partially reconstructed in 1850 by the city architect, Philippe Cannissié. After the pathway was destroyed by the Germans in 1918, his own architectural choices were selected in 2014 as a benchmark for its restoration.
