By these brochures, we can see the evolution of built-up areas, but also the place of nature and water in Nablus and Lille throughout the course of time

Version n°2 – 10 juillet 2024 Numeric version of the brochures


For each period of the cities' history, we represented the built-up area, the roads, the nature, and the water. Some markers are also represented, as well as an explanation of why people settled in this particular place, how urban planning was carried out, how law and politics influenced this development, how nature and water were factors that contributed to the settlement of these populations, is included.

Then, a focus on a specific marker of the period has been made, to see what resources were being used, the usage of the marker, and the law and regulations related to it. A cut of soil of this period has been made, and also a reconstitution of the urban fabric of the period using AI.

The period represented follow the same patterns for the two cities :
